Sgt Jeremy R. McQueary
United States Marine Corps

Route Clearance Platoon-3, Mobile Assault Company, Second Combat Engineer Battalion

JAN 28, 1983 – FEB 18, 2010 |   Helmand Province, Afghanistan

Hometown: Nashville, IN

In the wake of 9/11, Jeremy finished high school a semester early to serve his country. While others in his graduating class were on stage receiving a diploma, he was already stationed at Camp Pendleton. Jeremy was always ready to help those in need – even a family of opossums.  It was his love of animals that prompted his family to honor Jeremy’s legacy through the Brown County Humane Society.

BCHS, along with Jeremy’s family, developed the McQueary Legacy Pets program.  To briefly summarize:  Jeremy’s family assisted during a phone-a-thon conducted to raise medical funds for special needs/senior animals, telling the Warrior’s story to each caller.  The McQueary Legacy Pets are given meaningful names by Jeremy’s family and the families that choose to adopt will receive a personal thank you letter from Jeremy’s wife as well as a flyer sharing his legacy. Dog Tag Brewing Foundation is proud to support the BCHS with grant funds for the McQueary Legacy Pets program.
