SSG Joseph A. Gage
United States Army

1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

FEB 15, 1978 – NOV 2, 2006 |   Baghdad, Iraq

Hometown: Modesto, CA

Joe attended Downey and Johansen High Schools in Modesto, CA. As a teenager he enjoyed playing the drums for the high school band. Joe and his wife had a son, Michael Scott Gage, born on August 9, 2000. Joe picked out the unique spelling of his son’s name, Mikkie, saying that there would be hundreds of “Mikey’s” but none like him. To honor Joe’s legacy, the Gage family has chosen the Fisher House Foundation.

Fisher House Foundation - Rockville, MD

Fisher Houses are homes donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs. These homes provide lodging at no cost to family members so they can be close to a loved one at the most stressful time - during the hospitalization for a combat injury, illness or disease.

Dog Tag Legacy Fund is proud to support the Fisher House Foundation in honor of SSG Joseph Gage by providing grant funds that will help meet the needs of our nation’s injured, wounded and ill service members and their families.
