Christopher was born in Norwood, Massachusetts and raised in Marlborough, New Hampshire until moving to Chesterland, Ohio at the age of 15. As a child, Chris excelled playing baseball and soccer, and participating in Boy Scouts and 4-H. His leadership skills were evident early on as he served as a 4-H leader beginning at age 14. To honor his legacy, Chris’s family has chosen to support Hero’s Rock, a unique nonprofit inspired directly by Chris’s story.

Hero's Rock - Mantua, OH

Hero's Rock is a nonprofit organization started by Scott and Trish Snyder that builds tribute rockers for the children of fallen heroes in the Armed Forces, fire and police departments. The inspiration for their mission began when Scott and Trish heard the local news story about CW2 Christopher Thibodeau, an Apache Helicopter Pilot who was killed in action just one week after he and his wife learned he was to become a father.  Scott and Trish set out to build a custom rocking horse in the shape of an Apache Helicopter that would encompass all that this child’s father stood for. Chris's father, Bob, has been extremely involved with the building process spending most weekends in the shop with Scott.

Dog Tag Legacy Fund is proud to support Hero’s Rock by providing grant funds in honor of CW2 Christopher Thibodeau.
