PFC Nicholas A. Madaras
United States Army

1st Battalion, 68th Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division

OCT 21, 1986 – SEP 3, 2006 | Baqubah, Iraq

Hometown: Wilton, CT

Nick enlisted in the Army when he still had a semester left of high school.  Throughout his youth, he was an avid soccer player, coach and referee. While deployed to Iraq, Nick noticed how talented the local children were at soccer, although they were forced to use anything they could find as a replacement for an actual soccer ball. He asked his family to send him a few soccer balls so he could distribute them. To honor Nick’s legacy, his family created the Kick for Nick Foundation which has already distributed nearly 50,000 soccer balls to 30 different countries.

Kick for Nick Foundation - Wilton,CT

This organization was founded to fulfill the wish of PFC Nicholas A. Madaras to give underprivileged children the opportunity to experience the joy and camaraderie of the game of soccer, as Nick himself had. They accomplish this by securing donations of soccer balls and gear for children and monetary donations to assist with the logistics of distributing these items.

Dog Tag Legacy Fund is proud to support the Kick for Nick Foundation in honor of PFC Nicholas Madaras by providing a Legacy Grant to further support their unique mission.
