Mike Ferrari grew up in Fairfax, VA and attended the University of Virginia, where he studied finance and accounting.  A nephew of a NYPD detective and a FDNY Captain, he was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps hours after his college graduation in 2002, as part of the first college graduating class after 9/11.  Mike was designated a Naval Aviator in early 2005 and reported to Camp Pendleton, CA as an AH-1W Cobra attack helicopter pilot.  Over the course of his career he served as an instructor pilot, maintenance officer, operations & training officer, and future planning & tactics officer and is a graduate of the Marine Corps’ Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course.   Mike deployed numerous times to the Middle East and Asia, and led over 200 combat missions in Afghanistan, where as the highlight of his career he had the privilege and honor of leading 60 Marines as their detachment commander while conducting around the clock combat operations from a forward operating base. 

Upon leaving active duty from the Marines, Mike received an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business, where he graduated with honors while also continuing to serve in the USMCR as an instructor pilot.  He currently works in Technology, Media, and Telecom group of the Investment Banking Division for Goldman Sachs in San Francisco where he provides M&A and capital raising advisory services to technology companies.  He lives in the city with his wife Lori and their (soon to be) two young boys.
