At school, Jared excelled in soccer, baseball, and football.  In his 1998 season, he was chosen as all-CIF defensive back for the Big Bear High School Bears and was selected to play in Hawaii his senior year. He graduated from the University of La Verne, CA, with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. He lived by the belief that “you should always be true to your convictions and never compromise your beliefs.”  To honor Jared’s legacy, as well as his 6 other crewmembers, the Landaker family established the Seven Stars Foundation


Seven Stars Foundation - Big Bear City, CA

Their mission is to take a positive impact on the children of both the wounded and fallen military members through financial, emotional, and educational assistance. Programs include sponsoring military children to a week long summer camp, scholarships to Big Bear lake students, and holiday assistance to Camp Pendleton families of deployed military personnel.
